4 Months Shy of TWO 2 year olds! 20 Month Happenings...

Life sure is fun at our house these days. These two are quite entertaining on a minute by minute basis. We thank God for their precious lives and hope and pray He continues to give us the grace we need to point these girls to the Lord. Happy 20 Months Maddie Grace & Makenzie!! We love you both so, so much and can't imagine life without you two!!

What new things you girls have done this month!? (from 19-20mo)
-Words Maddie Grace CAN say: bye bye, Mommy, Daddy, dog, yummy, baby, ohhh, uh-oh, no, nigh nigh, me, boom, boo boo, what’s that, “right there,” hi/hey, up, down, eyes, ball
-Words Makenzie CAN say: bye bye, uh-oh, mama, dada, nigh nigh, hi, up, down, boom, boo boo, baby, ball, that
-love being told “secrets”
-want to help with everything (laundry, cooking, cleaning)
-danced and cheered for a week which got Makenzie to eat-UNBELIEVABLE! J
-close every door when opened, also love to hide behind doors
-really taken up dancing this month, esp Mak! They esp love some Bob Marley, but then who doesn’t J
-Makenzie immediately starts dancing now when a song comes on-she throws her hands in the air, even in her highchair!
-Makenzie’s famous dance looks like a monkey J H-I-L-A-R-I-O-U-S
-hate having dirty hands, insist on having them washed throughout mealtime to keep them clean
-turn your head with hand to get your attention
-MG dragged her granddaddy’s hand to take her outside (first time she’s insisted on going somewhere)
-can go up/down stairs very well (still have to watch MG more)
-recognize family and extended family in pics
-love pointing to things and saying “what’s that?!” they love for you to name objects
-constantly have fingers/hands in mouth bc first molars are coming in-they have been in a lot of pain!
-MG started tip-toeing
-Makenzie loves to make a huge mess and dump out whole contents of things or knock over massive amounts of things while MG prefers to keep things neater
-Makenzie seems to be more advanced with gross motor (running, climbing, etc) while Maddie Grace is definitely further along in the fine motor skills area (fitting in puzzle pieces, picking up tiny items, carefully stacking blocks, etc)
-MG is much more precise when it comes to puzzles and blocks and getting things to fit right or stack whereas Makenzie just slaps it down and hopes it goes in
-Maddie Grace is persistent with a task, while Makenzie gets super frustrated if her first attempt is unsuccessful-she usually signs done J
-both will shake head yes when you tell them to say “yes mam!”
-MG still bites Makenzie on occasion, but let’s be honest Makenzie def deserved it-she is quite the instigator
-MG is very cautious and timid and moves slow; Mak is like a bull in a china shop and has no fear at all
-love to drink out of mommy and daddy’s cups
-OBSESSED with crunching ice-can keep them entertained for a while
-eat well with fork and spoon
-still not much fun to take out to eat-quite a handful most of the time (every now and then we luck upJ)
-generally not great eaters, but from time to time you both can put away some food. Most days it’s still a battle and causes mommy lots of anxiety L Makenzie does love ChickFilA nuggets so we frequent there at least once a week!
-Favorite foods (at least today=): banana pancakes, French toast, cantaloupe, bagels with cream cheese, nuggets, HUMMUS, banana with peanut butter, strawberries, pears, kiwi, grapes, mac n cheese, PBJ, Kix & Life Cereal, carrots, peas, broccoli, green beans, goldfish, popsicles from Steel City Pops
-2nd Christmas with us-Mak seems very scared of the tree this year while MG is super fascinated and intrigued by it and has already gently “pet” the ornaments J
