Family Road Trip to Nashville!

On a whim one evening after work, my sweet husband and our girls amazing daddy said, "Well, what do you think about taking the kids on a little road trip to Nashville for the weekend?!" There wasn't the slightest bit of hesitation from me so we proceeded to make some fun plans. He had been so busy at work so this would be a sweet, sweet chance to spend some extra time with the girlies and make special memories. It also happened to have fall on Valentine's weekend so that was super fun! We were so looking forward to one of our "just our family" trips with the girls and they were pretty excited too!!
They had a ball "packing" their own little rolling suitcases and getting some toys ready for the car trip! Little Nana as we often refer to Maddie Grace as, gave extra attention to make sure her things were packed as precisely and perfectly as could be. =) Surprisingly enough, all three exceeded our expectations in terms of behavior and the ride from our house to our first stop down the road to Cracker Barrel went beautifully! We were off to a good start for sure!
We have come to love Cracker Barrel as a family and it would rank in the twins top 2 favorite places to eat if given the choice! So of course once we began planning the trip, we knew this would be the perfect stop along the way to split the trip up!
The joy of tradition for me means a lot and we have made so many precious memories with our girls here already so this particular stop was just another one to add to the books! I'm pretty sure that our girls ate their entire breakfast of pancakes, eggs, bacon, etc and then dove straight into their next round of eating our chicken tenders, fried okra, macaroni and biscuits with jelly. Considering our girls have never been huge eaters, this is one place to never count on taking any food home from!
We were all thrilled to make it to our hotel and truly it was so great to have zero plans other than to have fun as a family! They loved wheeling their suitcases up to the room, pushing elevator buttons, dropping coins in the fountain...you know all the little joys in life as a little one! We asked the twins what they were most excited about and of course their answer was...
TO GO SWIMMING! So we let them enjoy the room for a little while, eat a snack, and then we got our swimsuits on and headed downstairs!
They said this was their favorite part of the whole trip...and remembering those same joys as a child, I couldn't disagree!
Our original plan was to spend one night at the Embassy Suites before checking in to Opryland Hotel...that was until a huge snowstorm was predicted to hit starting Sunday night...so much to our disappointment we decided that even if we couldn't get our money back from our room, we still needed to be wise and drive home before we got stranded in an expensive hotel for a week with three little ones. So after one last swim, a delicious breakfast, & packing up we headed to our next stop along the way!
A trip to visit Opryland...we were still sad that we couldn't stay here with the girls, but we decided to make the best of it and still come spend part of the day enjoying the boat ride, a pizza lunch, and wandering through the conservatories. Our sweet girls seemed to think it was a pretty "fun" place!
LOVE these two so much it hurts!
And Ashton Kate's favorite part of today was being able to roam all over the place and be out of her stroller. Miss Independent LOVED her freedom!
Kendall and I had both been here several times before but it was so much fun to enjoy it through the eyes of children! The excitement for all things new is just super fun!
Our sweet twinsies getting so big!
But in Daddy's eyes, whether he admits it or not, the REAL reason he planned the entire trip to Nashville was to have an excuse to eat at Rainforest Cafe. He is like a little kid and has been talking for years months about how he couldn't wait to bring the girls here! I think it surpassed everyone's excitement and the girls have talked about it being their new favorite restaurant ever since we've arrived home. Needless to say, daddy says there will be many more trips to Rainforest Cafe in the future!
Seriously SUCH a fun and memorable trip! Cut short...YES but we managed to pack in quite a bit of fun in a short period of time and apparently we WORE them plum out!!!
This little one was more than ready to be in her bed!!
ROAD TRIP COMPLETE =)
Tired kids and parents, but FULL hearts!

Annual Daddy/Daughter Candelight Dinner =)

Year FOUR and counting! Loving the fact that we have stuck to the tradition that we started on the twins first Valentine's Day, but if I'm honest there's a twinge of sadness in just how quickly the little years are flying by. But all things aside, this tradition has quickly become one of my very favorites and this year proved to be even more true than the year before. Maddie Grace and Makenzie asked for a solid week if it was time for their candlelight dinner with daddy! It was the question that seemed to stay on repeat. And I just loved it! We spent Valentine's weekend in Nashville as a family so we decided to do the special dinner two days late-just an other reason for the girls to celebrate the day a  little while longer!

So while daddy got the ambiance just right, Mommy was getting the girls bathed, dressed, and all ready for their date with their daddy! They both chose to have their hair braided...the coveted way to have their hair done these days! =)
And then we headed downstairs to put on the finishing touches of perfume and lotion! They loved every second of it, including helping their lil' sis get ready too!!
And they're finally ready! Just waiting for their date to arrive!
He has officially arrived to pick them up...=) Showing off their pearls, perfume, and pure preciousness!
Daddy and his dates for the evening...let the fun begin!
And well, this little one didn't get the memo that this really is fun and memorable!
Showing the twins how a gentleman should treat a lady...=)
Thanking God for the amazing privilege of raising three daughters to love and fear Him! Oh that they would know the depth of God's love for them all their days here on earth...
Enjoying having the undivided attention of daddy all to themselves!
And now hands down their very FAVORITE part of the night...chocolate fondue for dessert!
Full tummies, but even fuller hearts!
Another year in the books...so.much.fun as always!!

Little Girls' Valentine Party

Since our sweet girls aren't involved in any type of organized preschool, I thought it would be fun to throw together a little party for all their little friends! The twins are all about having friends over and planning fun things so they had an absolute ball helping me shop for the party, get the decorations made and hung up, and setting the table! It turned out to be so sweet and the twins loved having their friends come to their "party!" So thankful for dear friends here in town that are always willing to make the effort to join in the fun!
We loved having a house full of girls (it's what we're used to, right?!) and making sweet memories!

A Trip to the Farm...TAKE TWO =)

Another fun trip to the farm is in the books! Seriously the kiddos had a ball and the mommies enjoyed seeing them enjoy new things and have a blast together! So fun to be reunited with old friends from Birmingham and let our kids play =)

First up, an attempt to fish. Pretty sure they had more fun throwing the line in as no fish were actually caught in the process...=)
My little world all in one place!
There's a first time for everything! Maddie Grace was all in and loved it and pouty pants back there wanted nothing to do with it. Their likes/dislikes and personalities constantly keep us on our toes!
She didn't mind posing with it though...
She loved the experience of shooting her first BB gun and lil' sis hanging out in the back seemed pretty unphased by it all thankfully!

Goodness this sweet face won't stay this little forever so let's capture it while it is!
So excited to finally be walking =) and experience some freedom!
Sweet Mac and Makenzie!
Love all these littles so much! They've grown leaps and bounds since their early days of playing together!
Our cute little crew together! Not an easy task to get them all looking and smiling but I think we almost succeeded!
Enjoying the farm life...for a day at least!
Definitely the highlight of the day for the girls! They LOVED it! Their smiles and laughter were priceless!!
Seriously the best pic of the day-shows their true feelings about getting to ride the gator with Ms. Evie! How fun is she for taking them on a little spin =)
Those eyes. Those cheeks. Those lips. Yep, love them all!
The end of a fun day was drawing near...had to try to capture one last memory!
Love these three children dearly! They played so well together!
And these two...bottle up this cuteness forever please! The little years will be over in the blink of an eye!

Can't believe they actually went in there to see the chickens! Stepping out of their comfort zone is not easy for them...and they loved it!
Sweet baby girl did great today and behaved like a little angel baby!
