Grayson, you are an ABSOLUTE joy! Having you here and part of our family for Christmas this year brings an extra element of delight and joy to our family! You make us all laugh, your smile is contagious, and your pleasant demeanor is a gift to us all! =) I seriously cannot fathom what life was like before you arrived…you were always planned and prayed for and we count it a privilege to have you for our son-to be entrusted with the task of raising you to be a God fearing man one day! Grayson, we couldn’t ask for more (well maybe for you to sleep all night again =) ) but truly you are the best baby in the world. We just got back from Disney World where we stretched you all day every day with no naps and feedings in public restrooms and you handled it all like a champ. You never made a peep and smiled all day long! You are seriously THE MOST content baby I’ve ever met. We can take you anywhere and you just smile at everyone! What fun you are to have along with us! You just roll with the flow and adapt to whatever you need to!  Thank you for making our laps just a smidge cozier but our hearts even fuller. You are so precious to us! We adore you, treasure you, and thank God for you! We pray God grants us wisdom each day to love you well, point you to Christ, and model His ultimate grace and mercy for you each day. We know we will fail you, but your Savior never will. What a gift this Christmas season to remember HOPE came as a baby! We love you sweet Grayson!

Memories & Milestones: 8 Months Old-9 Months Old

-Daddy let you have your first taste of ice cream while we were in Atlanta with just you! (12/1/17)

-Up until now we had been keeping you with us during the church service because you were so quiet and content with mommy holding you, but now you are suddenly much more active and noisy so this will have to change! (11/26/17)

-FIRST SNOW!! Pretty young to get to experience your first snow, especially living in good ole' Auburn, AL-12/9/17

-1st time eating in a high chair at CFA on our way to Disney World at 8.5mo & also enjoyed your first taste of their ice dream (12/9/17)

-FIRST TRIP TO DISNEY! You made your first trip at 8.5mo and were absolutely amazing the whole time! You slept like a champ and just went with the flow, even keeping rather late hours at the park! You were adorable when you met Minnie! (12/10/17)

-You are thoroughly enjoying your baby food and will gobble it all right up! Not objecting to too much just yet!

-still not taking a bottle (won't even try ugh!) and still sleeping on your tummy

-you can get anywhere you want to go by scooting forward, scooching backwards, or spinning around in a circle

-learned how to "yell!" (12/21/17)

-you can officially go from your tummy to sitting up (right at 9mo)

-started finger foods a week of shy of 9mo and did fantastic with them (strawberries cut up and puffs)

-you are definitely a little boy-you love your cars and balls already!

Grayson Mills Currie {8 Months Old}

8 Month Stats:

Weight: right around 20lbs

Clothes: some 6mo and some 9mo

Sweet boy!

I know I say it every month, but the truth remains: the time is FLYING by! I could squeeze you every minute of every day and it still wouldn’t be enough. You are simply the best =) By far the most laid back and content baby! Grayson, you make our days brighter and that smile you give is contagious to our whole house. We are so thankful to God for giving us you-you are more than we could have dreamed of and more than we deserve. We know it’s a loud house full of lots of emotions, but you handle it all in stride. Praying it stays that way! I think it’s safe to say you are satisfied being the caboose, toted around, & doted and loved on! You welcome any attention with the sweetest smile and perk up when someone plays with you! Your sisters can’t stand for you to shed any tears and do their best to sing to you, fetch your paci as quick as they can, or offer you a new toy to play with. I just cannot believe that that 8-pound baby is 8 months old today. The days can surely feel long, but the years are short! I know that full well. So I come to your aid in the middle of the night and pat your back or rock you as long as you need because it won’t last forever. In fact, it will be gone way too soon. You are such a joy, a true delight Grayson Bug and we love you so very much!! We are loving all our days with you!

Memories & Milestones: 7 Months Old-8 Months Old 

- you thoroughly enjoyed your first cup of Stonyfield vanilla yogurt! (10/27/17)

-sat up for a long time without tipping over on 10/27/17 (just past 7mo) but still can't be left alone safely

-Everything, I mean EVERYTHING goes into your mouth that you get your hands on

-love to shake toys from side to side as hard as you possibly can to see what they'll do    

-the tags on things keep you quite occupied for a while and they end up soaked when you are finished! =)

-you end up sleeping on your tummy most nights

-still won't take a bottle =(

-still a great nurser but unfortunately you are still waking up at night to eat at least once

-wake up having soaked through your diaper almost every morning

-daddy snipped a few longer strands of your hair over thanksgiving

-sitting up pretty well unassisted at 7.5months!!

-Things you love to do lately: pull out toys from a container, bang two objects together to make loud noises, scoot around on your tummy, reach for ANYTHING within a mile radius of you, babble up a storm and test out new sounds with your voice, grab your paci if it’s within your reach and put it back in your mouth, put EVERYTHING in your mouth, grab any tag, string, cord, etc. and reach down for things and come back up to the sitting position

Grayson Mills Currie {7 Months Old}

7 Month Stats:

Weight: still chunky =)

Height: still average

Clothes: wearing mostly 6mo

Diapers: size 2

Teeth: first one popped through at 6.5mo

Memories & Milestones: 6 Months Old-7 Months Old

-introduced solids to you a little after 6mo (we waited an extra week for you to be healthy!)

-Your first bite of real food (oatmeal) was on 9/26/17 and was also your first time in the high chair-you gobbled it all up and got the hang of eating rather quickly!

-1st butternut squash (10/2/17), 1st avocado after squash, 1st carrots (10/8/17), 1st pears (10/10/17), 1st bananas (10/20/17)

-You always LOVED your first Baby Mum Mum in the bumbo on 10/15/17

-you started rolling over during diaper changes at 6.5mo

-you started doing the tripod sitting right around 6.75mo

-were able to put your paci back in your mouth at 6.75mo as well

-started getting up on your knees and rocking at 6.75mo

-this month you began shaking toys every which way to see what they do and if they make noise

-you enjoy flapping your legs down really hard on the crib mattress and we can hear you banging around up there every night when you go to bed

-you cut your first tooth right around six and a half months and also bit mommy while nursing (huge ouch!) on 10/22/17

-you were almost sitting up unassisted right around 7 months

-still adored by your big sisters! All three enjoy reading to you, playing with you, and "babysitting" you!

Grayson Mills Currie {6 Months Old}

Precious One,

If I could freeze time with you I’d do it in a heartbeat! You are the perfect t little caboose to our family right now! Boy you brighten each and every day the minute we come get you out of your crib! Grayson, you are just the most darling thing we ever laid eyes on. You are rarely fussy, smile at anyone still, and go with the flow. You fit right in to this crazy crew we have and boy do they adore you. They fight to hold you and cry if they don’t get to tell you goodnight. We’re all equally smitten over you. =) You’ve started waking up at night again and I should do the right thing and  push through and make you cry a little more, but you just require so little during the day that it’s my chance to meet your every need and have a moment to hold you just a tad longer! You are a dream baby and everywhere we go people comment on how laid back you are and how chill you are. We are so thankful for that and for you sweet boy! I could never have imagined how much I’d love having a little boy in our lives, but you have surpassed all those dreams! I cannot wait to see all the many ways God uses your gifts and talents to further His kingdom. I can’t wait to tell you of His great love for you! I wish for anything we could make these next six months go way slower than the first six, but I’m afraid only the opposite will come to pass…SO we will treasure our days with you, even the nights you should be sleeping and know that it passes far too quickly. We will blink and you will be off running…that makes me excited and teary all at the same time! Every day with you is such a sweet reminder that God truly does give the VERY BEST GIFTS! We love you Grayson!!

-rolling both ways right at 6 months

Grayson Mills Currie {5 Months Old}

5 Month Stats:

Grayson Mills,

My how we adore you! We really wish time would slow down-fastest 5 months of our lives hands down! You are chunking up rather nicely these days, ha! J Everywhere we go, people have two reactions: 1. He is SO smiley! And then followed up with 2. He is HUGE! Yes you are sweet boy! Growing like a weed! You are the squishiest, cutest thing we ever laid eyes on! And that big dimply grin is almost too much! I could hold you all day and never get anything done around the house! It’s tempting on so many days because these baby days are fleeting. Truly, you have been the best baby and so much fun because you are so easy and we can take you anywhere! You don’t cry too often and as long as make sure to not push you too much in one day, you are a joy! Your smile lights up a room and it’s so much fun to let  others enjoy you too! I hope you stay so joyful as you grow! We couldn’t love you more if we tried! Happy 5 Months sweet Grayson! You are immensely loved around this house!

Memories & Milestones: 4 Months Old-5 Months Old

-play with your toes and hold onto your feet all the time (4.5mo)-put your hands and fingers in mouth to suck on-constant babbling and testing out new sounds
-love being shown attention and will break into the biggest grin with dimples and all

-sleeping all night (with one early morning feeding) and then back down again
-trying to sit up in the bath tub from laying down position (a good ab work out)
-still nursing great (6 feedings a day)
-you still spit up bucketfuls unfortunately and can soak mommy’s outfit in a quick minute!
-you are pretty laid back and go with the flow unless you're exhausted

-1st plane ride-Puerto Rico with mommy and daddy 8/3-8/7
-1st dip in the pool at the St. Regis in Puerto Rico 8/4/17
-1st bike ride- Puerto Rico 8/6/17
-first time in the baby Einstein play saucer 8/14/17 (4.75mo)

-started sucking your thumb more and more-we shall see if that ends up being your thing (4.75mo)
-you will smile at EVERYONE!! As soon as you make eye contact there's a slight pause and then you break into the biggest grin-it's adorable!
-reach and play with toys well

-easy, easy baby!
-scooting backwards like off the boppy, scooting around sideways
-discovered your tongue right at 5mo

Grayson Mills Currie {4 Months Old}

Hey Little Man,

Boy you sure have stolen our hearts! How is it possible that you are 4 months old already!? Cue all the tears because time is flying by way too fast! We are incredibly grateful to the Lord for blessing us with your life! If every baby was like you, we’d have a million. You make everyone around you ooh and ahh over your sweet ways! You light up the room with your huge smile and you sure aren’t stingy about passing them out! Your sisters still fight to hold you and play with you and may at times have even shed tears over not getting enough time with you when they are crawling into bed. There is no shortage of love for you sweet boy! Mommy and Daddy love when the girls are all asleep and we can lay you on the bed or hold you on the couch and just talk to you. You love to hear your voice and you love to give us big smiles and we can be doting parents over you! Four kids will never be easy (especially as little as you all are right now) BUT adding you to the family was as easy as it could be in terms of a new baby! You are seriously the most easy going little thing and a reminder of the Lord’s sweet grace to us! We sure are praying for you to know Jesus is your only hope. We will fail you. We will sin and fall short of the parents we want to be, but He will not. He is your Savior, He is your Rescuer, He is your Redeemer, and He is GOOD. We hope and pray you know that so soon! We love you so much Grayson and you sure do make our days happier with you in them!

Memories & Milestones: 3 Months Old-4 Months Old
-rolled from tummy to back for the first time (6/25/17-just past 4mo)
-babbling up a storm!!
-entertained by toys/grabbing onto things
-discovered your toes at church and also laughed for the first time (a real laugh) (7/2/17)

-still a huge fan of bath time-smile constantly and kick/splash up a storm

-took a bottle easily for the first time!!! (4.5oz)-(7/8/17)

-1st night in your own room (7/8/17)

-started laughing more when you are tickled under your chin/neck

 -6 feedings a day still-usually 5am, 8am, 11am, 2pm, 5pm, 8pm and napping if we are home after each one

-at 15wks started rubbing his eyes when tired-it's the cutest!
-moved to size 2 diapers at 16wks          
-chews on hands and paci constantly and drools nonstop-belly laughing! Laughing uncontrollably (right at 4mo)
-you sleep a TON! Some days it seems you've napped all day! You get your love for sleeping from your daddy

-At 3.5mo-4mo, you love love being talked to and interacted with by anyone but especially your sisters and will give the best smiles; also rolling from tummy to back but gets stuck sideways trying to go back to tummy, and you are constantly drooling!

Grayson Mills Currie {3 Months Old}

Grayson's 3 Month Stats:

Diapers: size 1 (busting out of them though!)

Dearest Grayson,

Boy this month with has sure been fun! You have become the best eater and best sleeper! Safe to say you win that award in our family =) We have settled into quite a good routine with you and you basically only wake up to eat early in the morning and go right back down for us! We couldn’t be more thankful! You wake up incredibly happy and your sisters love to dote on you, sing to you, talk to you, and get you to smile at them! They adore you and it’s to see why! You have the best personality and will smile at the drop of a hat to anyone who gives you a smile first. =) Makes it very fun for people to interact with you and especially your mama and dada! We love our time with you each night before we put you down. You seem to come alive and start talking up a storm to us, showing off all your tricks, and winning us over night after night after night! You pretty much go with the flow and your awful tummy issues seem to have subsided for the most part. It flares up every now and then and we work to get you comfortable, but overall it is so much better which makes for a happier baby! We have loved having you in our lives for three whole months and we are so excited with each milestone you reach as if you were out first! We are smitten over you and love toting you around town with our wild and crazy crew. Everyone loves to stop and ask is that another girl!?! And the girls proudly answer it’s a BOY!! You are dearly loved by us all and we thank God for your precious life! You are another precious gift from the Lord and we treasure our days with you! We wish you would stop growing OH SO FAST!! You are growing out of your clothes left and right which means time is passing way too fast! Know how much we love you sweet boy and always will! We know God has great plans for your life and we hope to steward your life well to bring glory to His name!

Memories & Milestones: 2 Months Old-3 Months Old

-not a great napper to kick off month three

-started doing this cute little smacking thing with your lips/mouth-so precious-stops and starts nursing to smile and  "talk"
-you fall asleep almost instantly in baby carrier
-waking up all smiles and give your sisters so many smiles!-still hate being hot and sweat up a storm-you love the clip on fan we added to your car seat

-started napping well around 9wks-helps to be home, ha!
-started taking a bottle better around 10wks (still slow but not screaming every time)
-pretty much sleeping through the night and has been...went 930pm-8am on 6/3/17
-aware that you’re holding onto things (paci, little bar that goes across bouncy seat) around 11wks

-such a sweet baby 99% of the time-only time you cry is when hungry or tired-getting pretty predictable
-grabbing onto objects (12wks)
-prefers nursing over bottles any day
-pretty chill baby and gives smiles to everyone who looks at you (there is like a 3 second delay and then you break into the biggest grin!)

-holding head up really well (still needs support but loves to look over mommy’s shoulder or when laying on tummy lifts head way up)
-nurses 6 times a day every 3hrs and then sleeps great at night with just early morning feeding typically

-starting to "laugh" from smiling and cooing so much! (12wks)
-chews on hands and toys (12wks)

Grayson Mills Currie {2 Months Old}

Grayson's 2 Month Stats:

Weight: 13lbs 1oz.

To our sweet little “buddy”

We couldn’t be more thankful for you sweet boy! You are so so loved in this home by your family J You are settling in to being the best baby! You are eating and sleeping well and some of the fussiness has appeared to wear off. It still pops up every now and then but you seem to be in much less pain and we are so thankful lfor that! You just go with the flow and I suppose being the 4^th baby in the family you don’t have much choice in that. Hopefully with the girls getting out of school this week we won’t have to plop you in your car seat nearly as much and you can actually learn how to take naps other places besides a car seat and a baby carrier. Speaking of baby carrier, it is the baby whisperer for us right now. Your most content place is asleep on mommy’s chest in the carrier. I don’t know we would make it without it, especially at dinner and bedtime with four kiddos! Thankful it calms you down and you fall fast asleep most of the time! You are such a sweet baby and your smiles and coos are simply the best! You are happiest when you wake up in the morning and especially after your first morning feeding. You are so smiley and happy and gurgling with delight! It is so much fun to watch you grow and change each day! Sure do wish we could slow time down because we know in the blink of an eye you won’t be a baby anymore. Mommy especially is soaking up this newborn season and cherishing you to the fullest! Babies don’t’ keep so we are savoring and treasuring each day with you! We love you so much and can’t wait to pour into your heart the love and grace and mercy that Jesus offers so richly and so undeservedly to us! It would bring us no greater joy than to see you walk with Jesus all the days of your life! Praying that for your life sweet Grayson! Happy 2 months buddy! You have survived our crazy family for two months and that is something to celebrate, ha! We love you so deeply and always will!

-made your first trip to the Montgomery zoo on 4/24/17 (almost 5wks old)

-first smiles at 5wks (real one at mommy on 4/26/17)
-smiling up a storm and expressive beginning at 5 weeks (4/26/17)

-first road trip to spend the wkd  in the Blue Ridge Mtns (4/28/17-4/30/17)
-had your best nights sleep at the cabin-went a 7-hr stretch both nights! (5.5wks old)

-first night to "sleep through the night" and slept from 9pm-5am (8hrs!!) on 5/4/17 (6wks2days)
-slept 9.25hrs from 815pm-530am on 5/7/17 (6wks5days)

 

-napped in your crib on your tummy for the first time 5/9/17 (7wks old)
-waking up super happy and smiley!
-still grunting and squirming a lot
-you found your voice right (8wks-ish)
-began kicking your legs and waving arms frantically (8wks-ish)

-made your first trip to Atlanta for Mother's Day
