First Family Beach Trip

Perfectly crazy of us but perfectly fun memories! We had the BEST time taking the girls on their first trip to Destin! We headed down for a long Memorial Day weekend. (May 26-30) On Thursday afternoon, we loaded down our car with all the baby essentials, which is a lot these days! We got the girls fed and then immediately hit the road packed to the gills! Thankfully we only had to stop once to feed the girls which still put us arriving there just after 2am! Of course once you arrive, it's time to eat again-it comes around pretty frequently! We barely survived that feeding and then fell fast asleep-all 4 of us (we think at least!) We took our time Friday just relaxing and getting the girls ready. Around 4pm, we took a drive to Seaside. The girls were absolute dolls throughout our dinner and Kendall and I felt so "normal" finally getting out of the house and enjoying a semi-date together! We ate at the Great Southern Company and I'm still not sure which we enjoyed more: our Mahi Mahi sandwiches or just being out as a family! Then we headed to the green lawn and fed you girls on a park bench! Like clock work you ate, you burped, and we headed around town for a stroller ride-it was such a nice night! After we left Seaside, we were ambitious and headed to Baytown Wharf and walked around that area. We came home just in time to feed yall again! We have been so impressed with how well you girls have done going out and we have soaked up every minute of taking you out! Late that night, the rest of the family arrived: Uncle Nathan, Aunt Kim, Granddad and Nana. On Saturday, we made our annual trip to the outlets but left the girls with the grandparents. Then that night all 8 of us enjoyed dinner at the Back Porch! We are fully aware at any minute things could go terribly, but we embrace the adventure and figure the worst that happens is we leave. Once again though, the girls did great and slept straight through dinner! We are enjoying this phase as we know it won't be like this for long! We are so grateful for extra hands to help hold and help with the night feedings! It has blessed us to have so many serve us in times where we really need it. Sunday morning rolled around and we had the girls first family church service thanks to Nathan leading us! It was a special time together as family and we thank God for family who loves the Lord and seeks to live lives that are honoring to Christ! That afternoon, we met a friend of Kendall's from back home and his wife for lunch in Rosemary Beach-what an ADORABLE little place! Lunch was fabulous and then the highlight that day was walking around town with our two little girls. Once again, feeling like a family has been such a breath of fresh air! We wrapped up the day with dinner at Pompano Joe's and again the girls did great, despite the more rowdy atmosphere. I guess when you arrive at dinner at 10:30, the crowd's a little different =) Life with newborns, what can we say? Last but not least, we hit up the Donut Hole on our way out of town Monday morning! Kendall and I LOVE donuts and have so many special memories from eating there. Hopefully one day the girls will share this same love! All in all, it was an incredible trip, the girls did great both ways in the car, many memories were made, and we impressed ourselves by taking 8 week twins out of town! Starting off traveling at an early age...
