A few things that stand out during this age/stage from
33-34mo:
-BIG TALKERS-like they really do talk all day long to each
other, to us, it’s a constant running dialogue which means it’s a constant one
hilarious comment after another type stage we’re in =) Things we hear all the
time around our house: What's that noise? What’s that sound!? (to everything!!) That’s
not right, I might be sad, It might work, Is something wrong mommy, What are
you doing to daddy? Are you happy with me?
-Like "talking" to us every night at bedtime
and asking what our favorites are (because we started asking their favorite
thing they did that day or their favorite toy or food)-they emulate everything
we do that’s for sure! And they pick up on when we are talking about them already so we have to watch what we say!
-Understanding more about Jesus and what a joy
that is!! They know 4 bible verses and parts of a few others and they are
absolutely precious saying them and their references-they call them their
“bible burses”
-Maddie Grace is our little singer and will sing
her heart out to her babies and stuffed animals and walks around the house
singing all day long-it’s astounding how many hymns/worship songs/bible songs
she knows from us singing to her each night and also from listening in the
car-total sponges!
-Love playing outside! When we pull in the driveway I have to
quickly corral them to go inside or they hop immediately on their bikes and
head down the driveway to play-hurry up spring!
-Understand when kids aren't being nice and are
bothered by it-they seem to both have very sensitive hearts already but
especially Makenzie
-Can tell when daddy is joking and their faces
when they realize he’s joking is priceless! They think he’s hilarious!
-Every.Single.Morning, when MG wakes up, she
sits at the top of the stairs and cries for mommy to come up, stand up and hold
her and carry her down…sometimes she wins, sometimes mommy does!
-Both still tough at bedtime with getting out of
bed and requesting more trips to the potty claiming their pee pee is about to
come out, but Makenzie especially despises bedtime. She cries almost every
single night face down like a turtle in her shell at the door and she’s pretty
persistent. She really kicks it up a notch and will kick the door and scream at
the top of her lungs until she gets what she wants =( Anywhere from 10min to an
hour is her norm and we end up having to make usually two trips back up there
to put her back in bed… Mak also will slide her paci under the door at night to
get us up there …phew one day…one day!
-Really into "Snacks" and ask for them
all day long
-LOVE being outside and riding their bikes and
car/taking walks
-Enjoy eating out more now and will eat what we
order which is so nice!
-Help each other go potty
-Obsessed with pics and videos when they were
babies and could sit on my lap for hours looking at them and talking about when
they were little
-Favorite song right now is still Away in a
Manger…which is their #1 request every night before leaving their room
-Their stuffed animals end up in time out or get quite a few spankings for not
obeying them lately…hilarious to watch them have serious talks with their
animals about their behavior. They copy word for word things we say to them!
-still into all things baby related: taking their babies to "church school," the grocery store, the zoo, to ChickFilA, giving them baths, reading to them, library time, etc...They are great little mommies!!
-Potty training has definitely digressed-not
because they can’t but because they choose not to during the day…maybe it’s
attention but either way, we’ve had a lot of wet panties at our house lately
-Make up songs to sing to them-water song, book
song
-Mak is extra sensitive and empathetic towards
others and hates to see people sad or crying or hurt…such a precious sweet
heart already!
-Love reading books still and remember what
happens in them very well…can ask them questions about the story and they are
usually correct
-Favorite foods these days: frozen raspberries
warmed up of course, diced mango and pineapple, mini muffins, nutrigrain bars,
banana pancakes, & "abocado" as Mak calls it
