Currie Clan in Blue Ridge

I'm a bit sad that this trip is over. Tear! We've had this on our calendar for quite some time, talking about it and building it up to the girls for weeks. And now it's come and gone. Alas, I suppose that's life. BUT...we had THE BEST time! We ventured to the North Georgia mountains the last weekend in June with the whole Currie Clan-including 5 little girls under 3.5 yrs old. Memories, memories for sure! Truly all the kids did wonderfully and we loved getting to all be together under one roof. I'm convinced communal living is certainly the way to go. As long as everyone eats, acts, sleeps, and behaves just like we do, right!? =) We're so grateful for opportunities like these (Thanks Nana & G-Dad!) to live life together! We managed to squeeze in quite a bit of fun too!

We arrived on Thursday night and enjoyed a really fun dinner with just our sweet family before making our way to the cabin. All three girls did great and we loved our trout dinner that was just a few miles from where we were staying. The twins enjoyed walking down to the dock and peering into the water..I'm just thankful neither of us had to dive in after them! We'll give the Toccoa Riverside Restaurant two thumbs up for getting our trip started on a really fun note!
Ashton Kate enjoyed her first dining experience in a high chair!
Definitely will be back if we're ever in the area again!
Could eat this cuteness up! Just re-living their days in momma's womb I suppose!

The weather wasn't spectacular when we woke up Friday morning but that didn't stop Daddy from embarking on a day trip hike/adventure with his daughters! The rain coming down DID however prevent Mommy from being too excited to join in the fun. We got the girls dressed and ready and packed them a lunch for the road! So glad that he's willing to take advantage of every opportunity to make special memories with our girls. They had a ball and he said it will go down as the highlight from the trip!

Here they are having survived the hour drive and now they are enjoying their picnic lunch in the van with Daddy and trying to wait out the rain that was pouring down! Daddy helped Makenzie master the art of the pouty face!
Singing rain rain go away must have helped them! The rain cleared out and they were on their way!
Our little cuties excited to see the waterfall!
They made it! No small feat to make the mile trek in with two 3 year olds!
Daddy teaching the girls how to do a silly "selfie!"
The BEST DADDY IN THE WORLD as the girls say...and I couldn't agree more!
Not sure what daddy fed Maddie Grace, but this is a little out of character for her to be this "crazy!" =)
The trek back was a little harder work-daddy had to carry both back to the car! But truly...what a special day for these two to share a day date with daddy!
They snagged a quick nap in the car on the ride home and then the rest of the crew decided to meet them at this little creek/river area after naps for some fun! Our two were beat from their long day, but they livened up some when they saw sweet Abbie and Evie and baby sissy!
Maddie Grace is a little more outdoorsy/willing to take a few risks with daddy than Makenzie is at this point. Didn't surprise us a bit that Makenzie wanted to stay right with mommy once I arrived!
Wish we had captured more of the fun they had playing together but serious cuteness when these four are together! Our girls love "AbbieEvie" so much and we look forward to any chance we have to spend time with them!
Just some sweet bedtime snuggles with my two oldest girls! Love this time with them each night! They love their "Mama Love" time as they call it...

Another fun highlight of the trip was going blueberry picking! Forget the fact that it poured on us, the girls had a great time! In no time, they were quite the blueberry pickers and I'm pretty sure Makenzie was more efficient with the quantity that made it to the basket because Maddie Grace was making sure they tasted good first! =)

Here we all are loaded up on the tractor and heading out to the orchards! This was also before the bottom fell out! Thankful that Nana & G-Dad were willing to babysit Ashton Kate while the rest of us fought through the pouring rain!
Drenched but having the best time! Besides cantaloupe, I can't think of a fruit MG would be more excited to be picking/sampling than blueberries!
Cherishing sweet summertime with these two!
Showing off their fresh blueberries!
Every day of parenting these two holds many challenges, but it's these memories and sweet moments that carry me through the tougher ones!
And while we were outside picking blueberries, this little miss was inside learning the ways of country living!
Back in the gift shop enjoying some apple fritters and tarts!
These girls have yet to understand the sacrificial love this G-Dad has for his grandchildren. The love he shows them is such a gift to our girls!
Preciousness all the way around!
All four of the girls loved the fire and rocking out on the porch after dinner!
This sweet little one didn't have the best nights of sleep! Here she is waiting on Mommy to give her a midnight snack! =)
Sad to be leaving but will hold all these memories dear to our hearts for a long, long time! Such a beautiful, fun cabin with those we love most!
Never fun parting ways after a fun weekend so instead we'll enjoy one last lunch at a local BBQ place!
Sweet cousin love!
