Happy Birthday to our two little lovebugs! Your daddy & I can hardly believe it's possible that you have been alive for two whole years! Whew! Life sure is flying by! We praise God for your lives and thank Him for teaching us so much about His great love for us through both of you! What a treasure you both are to us and we hope the Lord continues to give us wisdom as we strive to shepherd your hearts towards Jesus. That is all that matters here on earth and we pray towards that end on a daily basis. For your hearts and your salvation. We love you so much and can't imagine life without you both in it! We are exceedingly blessed to be your parents and hope you always know how dear you are to us!

What new things you girls have done this month!? (from
23mo-24mo)
-New words/phrases: mommy hide, daddy hide, “anyone” hide, I
you momma (MG), yove you momma (Mak), What’s wong sissy!?!, MG says uh-hey for
uh, huhreally putting together lots of 2 and 3 word phrases-just amazing to see
the their budding language skills! They are communicating very well now! Maddie
Grace especially has really turned into a little chatterbox and will talk up a
storm putting so many things together! Makenzie winds up copying what she says
half the time!
-Girls are really talking to each other and will have
conversations that actually make sense now-so precious!
-Very into naming many things with a person’s name in front
of it (daddy’s shoes, Papa’s house, Ruff Ruff sleep, Mommy potty) =)
-Girls will help pray at mealtime, bedtime, throughout the
day and will then begin naming people to pray for-Mimi, Papa, Mommy, Daddy,
Nana, Kenzie, and then quickly say “Amen! Nigh nigh!” when they are
through-Maddie Grace does this a lot =)
-When we ask How old are you going to be, you both respond
with TWO! And then try to get your two fingers correctly up =)
-have mastered the art of hide and seek-will “count” 8, 2, 3
(esp MG) while mommy & daddy hide or if you girls are hiding Makenzie will
frantically stick her hand out towards MG and say, “come on!” and wait for her
to catch up-then you two will get in your spots and start saying shhhh and then
sit as silent as can be until we “find” you! Quite adorable!!! The only problem
is that now they hide even when we aren’t playing and sit so quietly that I
can’t always find them!
-Makenzie officially climbed out of her pack n play during
nap time on March 6-and is pretty good at it which now makes traveling a tad
more complicated! Maddie Grace wasn’t going to be left out and followed suit
soon after!
-Enjoy playing ball together and will cup your precious
hands together to “catch” it
-Maddie Grace has begun to mother Makenzie already-she yells
“Whoa Sissy!” when she’s getting close to the road or will tell her “Kenzie
back” if mommy has asked her to put something away-she’s getting pretty good at
telling her what to do =)
-Both girls will say potty and run to sit on the potty and
then want to use toilet paper and flush and say All Done with no activity, ha!
-Getting very emphatic and opinionated about what they want
to do, eat, watch on tv, etc and will specifically tell people where they want
them to sit or play, etc
-Lots of imaginary play with their baby dolls-the baby now
participates in many activities like shutting the pantry door, putting shapes
in the sorter, going potty, going down the slide, etc and they will cheer when
their baby does something =)
-Fascinated with cars, trains, airplanes and love playing
with them
-LOVE, rather OBSESSED with being outside and love playing
in a yard, on a playground, or just picking leaves off the bushes out behind
our house just so long as they don’t have to be inside :=) We have major fits
when it’s time to come in =(
-Both very captivated by animals, bugs, insects and Maddie
Grace will especially study them and watch their every move. She is not scared
in the slightest by them. Makenzie laughs and giggles at them but would prefer
to keep them at a distance.
-like talking on the phone to grandparents but even more
excited to just get to hold the phone all by themselves
-First real Easter Egg Hunt where they could participate
-still love putting on music and dancing wildly around until
they run into each other and fall down laughing hysterically
-Still rough house and love to tackle and wrestle one
another; Makenzie still winds up pinning Maddie Grace to the floor and bouncing
on her tummy until Maddie Grace can muster up the strength so say NO!!! while
laughing =)
-love Mickey Mouse and will say HI MOUSEY when he comes
walking over the hill; have really started liking Word World probably even more
than Mickey
-Sing portions of ABC song while putting the letters on the
bathtub walls; love singing Twinkle Twinkle Little Star & He’s Got the
Whole World in His Hands
-love doing Ring around the Rosie
& London Bridge
is Falling Down
-still not terrific eaters, but through some
coaxing/annoying bribery they will eat quite a nice variety of meats, fruits,
& veggies-Makenzie’s absolute favorite is cereal and she will ask for bites
of mommy’s every single morning almost! Love to help “cook” and watch their
food in the oven or microwave
-Part of their new bedtime routine now consists of them
asking to be “rocked” every single night-and how can you resist when they are
finally both still and snuggled in your lap, so we sing hymns until their
requests for “one more” cease which is never. Mommy just has to tell them last
one and then time to go night night
-Maddie Grace will intentionally not put in the correct
piece of the puzzle or shape so that she can say, noo, and then put it in the
right one to drag out her activity and make it a tad harder-too funny!
-My all time favorite thing they do is say “SWITCH, which
sounds like SWEECH” =) when they want to trade toys or food or cups with one
another. And the funniest thing about this new switching/trading off thing is
that Maddie Grace has gotten smart and will try to switch her almost finished
ice cream cone with Makenzie’s new cone-smart little cookie!
