We already celebrated their birthday a few weeks prior, but we hated not to do anything on their actual birthday to commemorate them actually turning TWO! Of course we know they will remember this day well years from now so we didn't want to see disappointment on their faces. Joking of course. At this age, celebrating is definitely to ease any guilt parents might feel. =) With our family in transition mode and being rather nomadic, we were in Atlanta on their actual birthday so that meant even though they didn't get to spend it with their daddy this year, they had some extra love from grandparents and aunts! We debated about what to do and finally settled on Chuck E Cheese & Bruster's Ice Cream! What a winning combination!
The girls were a tad hesitant to start with (huge understatement) Scared to death might do it more justice. The whole off-roading car ride going every which way was probably not the best way to ease them into this uncharted territory.
But they quickly warmed up to the idea of the rides and especially the whole insert a token into a slot thing. =) Highlight of Maddie Grace's night probably! Their favorite ended up being the mini carousel and the spot they always wanted was the horse closest to the token machine.

I'd like to blame their lack of eating pizza on too much excitement bu the truth is they are just not great eaters in general and especially not out in public somewhere. One day maybe, one day...
Thanks Mimi and Grandpa for making our birthday so special! It was a night to remember for sure!
