Memories & Milestones: 17 Months Old-18Months Old

-we are well overdue in cutting you off from the bottle but you truly LOVE it so much and cry for it that we have caved another month because of our upcoming Disney trip...you take 4 bottles a day (4 oz each) and still won't drink it if it's not warmed up and given by Mommy in the "position" you like, ha!

-this month has probably been your pickiest eating month to date-you're not a fan of hardly anything these days and throw half your food on the floor-only consistent things you love are yogurt and most fruits! All else is hit or miss depending on the day and your toddler spirit =)

-Still excellent control feeding yourself with a spoon and fork and new this month if your new found joy in dipping your food in ketchup, syrup, hummus, etc.

-When any music comes, you start bouncing up and down and bobbing your head back and forth

-You still love to play with the brook (prob fav toy, ha!) and your favorite spot in the house is still daddy's computer chair!

-New entertainment this month has been climbing in and out of your high chair and playing with the buckles on it-has kept you very occupied!

-You thoroughly enjoy pushing things around such as your lawn mower, a grocery cart, the Fisher Price popper toy, and a baby stroller!

-Most of your days are spent playing with cars, trains, and begging to be taken outside! (where you are most content!)

-When we think of you at 18 months old here are some things that come to mind: you're honestly a tough little munchkin right now and do a LOT of screaming & fussing-it's difficult to keep you content and happy and mommy ends up toting you around in the ergo entirely too much, you are still VERY jealous if mommy reads to or holds anyone other than you, you've made drastic improvement in the nursery and now only shed a few tears when dropped off but can be calmed down quickly, you love to copy and imitate what we do such as coughing or sneezing and then belly laugh when you finish, you give the best bear hugs around our neck on command (17.5mo), you're a stubborn little fellow and pitch a fit if you don't get what you want, you're still a HUGE mama's boy, you're full speed ahead most days and keep us on our toes watching you like a hawk, you love animals (esp dogs) and love visiting a pet store! Most of all, we love you more than you could ever imagine G-bug!

Grayson Mills Currie {17 Months Old}

Memories & Milestones: 16 Months Old-17 Months Old

-you are the biggest handful these days, but oh so precious!

-so thankful you are such a good sleeper and a great napper! You sleep from 7:30pm-7:30am give or take and then you take a 3 hour nap usually from 12-3pm each day!

-you are officially toddling/walking all over the place and you also do a lot of squatting down to play-love to see your ability to balance and come back up to a standing position without toppling over!

-also pretty proficient at climbing into chairs and turning your body around to face forward in the chair

-you love to be 'on the go' and we can barely keep up with you-you move from one thing to the next at rapid speed and we truly can't take our eyes off of you or you will be on top of the kitchen table, kitchen counter, computer chair/desk, up the stairs, train table, or bar stools-you love, love to climb!

-You also have officially entered the wreck havoc on everything stage-lots of time is spent following behind you cleaning up all the things you have pulled off a shelf, out of a drawer, or out of a basket-you make messes faster than we can clean up that's for sure!

-if you hear the word OUTSIDE, you make a beeline to the door to leave-truly your favorite place still. You love to take walks, be pushed in your riding car, blow bubbles, and play on your little slide/climber-you never ever want to come back inside!

-you love to wave at everyone you see and yell gye/dye which is your version of bye bye!

-just this month, you have decided that you are rather independent and don't need our help for things, ha! You especially like to feed yourself cereal and yogurt with a spoon ALL BY YOURSELF. =)

-speaking of meal time, we can't get the food on your tray fast enough for you-you are rather impatient until you are fed and have had your bottle! You also love to throw things over the side of your high chair and see the effect-all fun and games until it's spaghetti or a bowl full of cereal!

-still addicted to your paci and honestly we let you have it far more than we should because you are a fussy baby during the day! (don't worry, we won't let you go off to Kindergarten with it!)

-we love your little scrunched up nose smile you've mastered =)

-you give the best hugs and wrap your chubby little arms around our necks-can never get enough of those and your slobbery kisses are simply the best too!

-you aren't a big fan when mommy holds anyone besides you and you get rather jealous and cry/try to push your sisters off my lap

-you light up when your sisters come home from school or wake up in the morning-just so long as they don't steal your mommy, ha! You need reminding often that you are one of four children =)

-When we think of you at 17 months old here are some things that come to mind: you still are uber attached to your bottle and since you're the last baby, we'll let you have it a smidge longer. You are a creature of habit and want it warmed up, sound machine on, in the rocking chair, reclined in our arms, and lights off at night =) Still obsessed with dogs and go crazy when you spot one, have started copying and mimicking others (coughing or blowing your nose), still spend a lot of your days hanging and crying on mommy's legs, still not a fan of the nursery, car/train lover, and love the outdoors! We're pretty smitten over you and we're sure you know it! =)

-You had your 1st Bruster's vanilla ice cream cone this month 7/22/18

Grayson Mills Currie {16 Months Old}

Memories & Milestones: 15 Months Old-16 Months Old:

-Little particular pants still wants his bottle of warmed up milk every day at the same temperature with the same nipple, in the same spot on the couch or rocking chair in the same position. Oh, and only mommy is capable of giving him said bottle! =)

-finally, finally started drinking out of a sippy cup if desperate! (6/26/18)

-still loving your food-you seem to be a bottomless pit these days! Your favorites lately: blueberries, bananas, strawberries, watermelon, muffins, spaghetti)

-you're still a big mama's boy and cling to my legs all day, every day! Really and truly, you are right by my side and often times I cook dinner with you on the my back in the ergo...it's how we eat dinner at night =)

-cry huge crocodile tears when dropped at any nursery-as in hysterical screaming and we get called to come get you often (we know you'll outgrow it, but it's no fun!)

-your favorite place to be is still outside-you truly wake up wanting to be outside as soon as possible and will stand at the door and whine until we go...it's your happy place for sure!

-your attention span is still rather short to say the least-you move from one thing to the next and you definitely will not sit still to listen to even one book being read to you, hopefully one day soon!

-favorite toys: your blue car, the car race track, your trains/train table, water table, and your riding toys outside

-sweetest sounds these days are your car and train noises you now make when driving them around =)

-climbing things still ranks pretty high on your list of things you enjoy!

-you love to play at a park and climb up and down everything!

-your fan club of sisters is still going strong-their love for you only keeps growing!

-right at 16mo you officially stopped crawling places and moved into full on walking mode!

-also right at 16mo you started saying uh-A instead of uh-oh and it's rather adorable!

-you finally overcame your fear of bath time and pool and now you LOVE it! So thankful for this because now you don't want to get out and it's a lot more fun than all the tears you shed for several months!

-words you say at 16mo: mama, dada, ugh-A, dye dye (bye bye), di (HI!!!)

-You got your first haircut at a salon this month 7/13/18

-Most common place to find you these days: hanging on mommy's legs to be picked up, ha!

Grayson Mills Currie {15 Months Old}

Memories & Milestones: 14 Months Old-15 Months Old:

-BIGGEST milestone this month is that we have a little WALKER on our hands now!

-You took your first step in Clayton on 6/5/18 but fell down immediately, then you took several steps in Atlanta and Clayton while Mommy and Daddy were in Vietnam-then the night we returned you took 5-6 steps straight to Mommy on 6/21/18 (right at 15 months)

-You have become an incredibly picky eater this month and will throw the food off your tray in disgust if you don't approve of it. You also will push people or food away from your presence if you aren't pleased, ha! You now use your fork at mealtime though and are actually pretty great at it!

-Your new favorite things to play with are trains and cars-it's your new found obsession and you LOVE them from sunup to sundown! Mighty cute having a little boy I might add!

-You enjoy concentrating on a task and putting toys in slots (piggy bank toy) or holes (cupcake shapes in muffin tin) and will keep at it until you finish usually

-Still a climber and it's very difficult keeping our eyes on you at all times! You climb everything in sight!

-You still enjoy being outside so, so much and it's your happy place! You love taking walks, being pushed on your riding toys, playing with your cozy coupe, or splashing in the water table

-Playing peek-a-boo is another fun trick you've learned and you die laughing as you uncover your face EVERY.SINGLE.TIME!

-It's no surprise that you are still adored by your sisters! You've got three sisters at your beck and call! They truly do love you so much Grayson! Anything you need at all, they will do for you!

-Other things to remember about you at this stage: you love to clap for youself, you started blowing kisses right around 14.5 months, you can stack blocks up in a tower, you said "da, da" on Father's Day,  & you wave bye bye and goodnight very emphatically

Grayson Mills Currie {14 Months Old}

Buddy boy,

You are becoming a little boy right before our very eyes and although it's exciting and amazing to watch you continue to meet milestones and learn new things, it's a reminder of how time is flying by. Faster than we ever dreamed possible. From rolling cars around to filling up a dump truck with sand, you are beginning to show us differences already in raising a little boy. Up until now it's been baby dolls and purses, so what a joy to move into trains, cars, balls, and trucks! You're still such a sweetheart and can be found positioned on mama's hip, strapped in your stroller, or in the ergo! That is, until you are ready to be down and roaming free! This was a bittersweet month in that a week shy of turning 14 months we finally weaned you from nursing. Probably my least favorite week in a long time watching you cry buckets of tears in the process. I wasn't sure you or I would survive and my mama heart truly ached (and still does!) to be done with that season of motherhood! But so so thankful that it went smoothly and we were bale to make it past a year! I will treasure that sweet time with you each night where all was calm in our chaotic little world! Grayson, you are a joy and a true gift from God. We are thankful for the happiness your life brings to our family! We love you so, so much!

Memories & Milestones: 13 Months Old-14 Months Old

-still LOVING food-truly you gobble it down faster than we can keep it coming on your tray and will scream for more!

-you've tried all sorts of new foods from Mexican Lasagna to Shrimp Tacos, from tacos to spaghetti and we have yet to find many things you don't devour =) The only few dislikes seem to be mandarin oranges and raspberries so far!

-still terrified of the bathtub and it's traumatic for you whenever it's time for another one-you cry from entry to exit and it's heartbreaking but it's a fact of life buddy!

-we dropped the morning feeding on 5/8/18 and headed to the zoo (your first REAL trip-trips as a newborn don't count) in hopes that the heat would encourage you yo embrace the sippy cup but alas you held out on us yet again!

-To make up for your lack of no liquid except nursing before bedtime, we offered you more squeeze packs and as you can see above, you weren't a fan of that replacing your milk

-On May 14, 2018 you nursed for the last night (a week shy of 14mo) and mommy soaked up the last time too! A sweet time with you for sure and terribly bittersweet! You had grown super attached to nursing the last few months which made this even more sad to be finished!

-After not allowing one single drop of liquid into your mouth for multiple weeks, you finally caved after several days post-weaning and succumbed to drinking warmed up breastmilk from a bottle (I've never been more overjoyed!)

-Snacks became more frequent to satisfy you during the day with some extra calories and you looked like such a big boy reaching your little fingers into the bag and doing it all by yourself!

-You've gotten even more attached lately if that's possible and will hover at mommy's feet until I pick you up!

-Things you've learned this month: how to climb up the slide, how to climb into a little chair (right at 14mo) & how to move forwards and backwards riding the little riding toy! (also at 14mo)

-you really enjoy activities or toys where you can fill things up or insert objects into something (loved putting sand in the truck & love playing with your gumball machine toy)

-still terrified of taking baths and also the pool

-you know that you need to balance your weight and ease down from something if you are up high

-love clapping your hands together and seem so proud!

-most precious thing ever this month is that you will frantically crawl to mommy or daddy and nestle your head right into our belly button area and then around to position yourself in our lap! Too cute!

Tiny Ballerina's Big Day {Ashton Kate's Ballet Recital-May 2018}

THIS....THIS is why we have invested in ballet for the year, ha!

All the heart eyes for this precious little girl! Our tiny ballerina was so so precious when she got her costume on and marched in to show her daddy her twirl! There is this sweet window of opportunity to watch a four year old twirl up on stage and it was well worth every penny invested!

So proud of this sweet girl! She did the whole routine and was so so excited to get her flowers from her daddy! Such a joy to watch her up on stage and she was thrilled to be the one we were all watching! =)

Proud sibling sharing in her "special day!" Nana and Gdad joined in on the recital festivities!

 She was thrilled to know this day was about her! We tried to make it as special as possible with sweet celebratory balloons and flowers & she got to pick where we went out to eat afterwards and she chose Cracker Barrel! Not sure if she enjoyed her special chocolate milk or the recital more, but either way 4 year old ballerinas can't get much cuter! We love you Ashton Kate and loved watching you sweet girl!

MOO-ANA Night at CFA

It's difficult not to love Chick-Fil-A for all they stand for and so much more, but tonight's family night topped the charts for the girls! To close out a season of  family nights, they went out with a bang. Tonight's festivities included a MOO-ANA Luau with hula dancers and Hawaiian getup!

They were a tad hesitant to test out their hula dancing skills, but they finally gained enough confidence to get out there and give it a try! They ended up loving it and were begging to stay longer to keep dancing! Even the cow showed off his moves! =)

Thankful for sweet neighbors and classmates to join in the fun with us! Makes the evening even more enjoyable with friends tagging along!

Face painting, hula dancing lessons, lei making, photo booths, and nuggets made for a pretty perfect kids night! (even if that meant the paint was coming off before bedtime, ha!)
