Ashton-Katesy,
I can’t believe we are sitting down to write your 15 month
update!? Where have the months gone? They sure are flying by, but we pray we
have managed to make the most of each passing day that we have with you! This month seems like such a big month because
you have gone from being a crawler to a walker, a pointer to a little talker,
and from a baby to a little girl it seems overnight! You are just a ball of
energy from the minute you wake up! You keep us on our toes getting into far
more than I remember the twins at this stage-you definitely are learning from
the best! The most fun part about this month hands down is that you are finally
walking! You sure took your time but we are loving this new addition because of
what it means in terms of the fun you have with Maddie Grace & Makenzie. You
are now three peas in a pod and you play SO well together! Goodness we couldn’t
love you an ounce more if we tried! You are definitely the “baby” of the family
and are loved on every minute you are awake…maybe at times more than you would
like, ha! But more than anything, day after day we pray you see a love that
surpasses any amount of love you could receive here on earth… the love from a
Savior. The degree to which we hope you know this truth so deeply cannot even
be put into words, but we pray towards that end meal after meal, day after day.
We don’t’ feel like you can hear the truth of the Gospel nearly enough times so
we strive to talk about it all.the.time….everywhere we go and through
everything we encounter. We love you Ashton Kate Currie. You are the sweetest
third little girl and we are more smitten today than the day we laid eyes on
you!
Love,
Mama and Dada
Milestone and Memories from 14-15mo:
-You are still a wonderful sleeper-such a gift! You go to
bed around 7:30 each night and sleep until around 7:30am give or take on either
end a smidge!
-You have digressed in your eating and have slowed down not
only on what you will eat but also the quantity. It’s nice knowing you are a
healthy little thing and that you will eat when you are hungry. Lately, you
have only been wanting to eat carbs and I can’t say I blame you =) You love,
love, love muffins, raisin bread, waffles with peanut butter, sandwiches,
graham crackers-if it’s along those lines you’ll usually eat it right up. For
all the other things you’re not excited to put in your mouth you do one of two
things: stack it up on the counter by the coffee maker for us or throw it over
the side…so nice of you! This hasn’t been a great month for you eating veggies…so
we’re grateful we can at least get them in you via a baby food squeeze pack
still! And you still enjoy fruit for the most part-but your favorites are
blueberries, bananas, mandarin oranges, and strawberries-you are not loving the
raspberries these days like you used to. But things change so we’ll keep offering
you them all! And just for records sake, yes you are still taking your bottle 4
times a day. We keep saying we’re going to get rid of it, but it’s so easy and
you love it. That combined with the fact that you hate the sippy cup has made
us hold onto it a little longer. Not worried though-you certainly won’t go off
to Kindergarten taking a bottle! =)
-The biggest news for this month is you are WALKING!! Literally
three days shy of turning 15 months (1/27) you became a walker. You went from
barely taking steps to all the sudden taking 8-10 in a row and doing the whole “toddling
around” thing. We soaked up every single step you took and clapped and cheered
like crazy. Of course as your parents we were proud, but your twin sissies were
ecstatic and went bananas every time you did it! About three days later, you
were officially walking without falling much. Boy these stages sure don’t last
long!
-What a sweet month it has been in terms of you displaying
your affection for your family. Right around 14-14.5 months, you started giving
hugs and kisses and leaning in to snuggle without us asking you to. It’s beyond
precious, especially when you give it your big sisters! And they eat it up
every second of it!
-And what a tough month it’s been in terms of your
fussiness. You cut several teeth this month which led you to become super
clingy to mommy and not want to be put down or out of mommy’s sight. You also
had your first ear infection which we realized was definitely the major
culprit! After the meds kicked in, you were able to go back to wanting to play
again but it was a good week of non-stop fussing and crying-poor you and poor
us! =)
-Words you can currently say: mama, hi, bye-bye, dog and you are currently signing more, please, all done, thank
you, help, & read a book-it is so much fun seeing your
language skills develop! You love to read books now so I know it will only
continue to expand in the coming months!
-When I think of you at this age these are some things that
come to mind: you squeal ALL the time! Whether excited or upset, you squeal A
LOT. You squeal and point for food, for toys, for us to pick you up or simply
when you don’t get your way. BUT… you are extremely cuddly and affectionate.
You walk up to us and especially the twins and give out big hugs and lay your
head on their chest for snuggles! Absolutely adorable! You are super easy to
put down for naps and bedtime-thank you Jesus for your grace in this area! You
LOVE to be outside still and if you see someone putting on their coat or shoes,
you start putting your arms up to be included…you are the most content being
outside, whether playing in the yard or just on a stroller ride, you love it! You
cry big crocodile tears when we have to come in. =(
-You love to play with your
sisters and try to keep up with everything they do-thankfully they love you
being around and are so patient when you mess up their things! You are still a
huge climber and you still love bath time! We can find you constantly signing
please for things you want which is so precious and you point to everything in
sight. Your highs are high and your lows are low-we love your love for life
thus far and how you kick your legs like crazy when you’re excited!
-Important dates this month: 1/5-you had your first ear
infection and it caused you be super clingy and cuddle with your mama; 1/8-you
took your first steps and then did it again on 1/9; 1/15-you started blowing
kisses when we tucked you into bed without us asking you to-so sweet! 1/19-You
had your first ice cream cone and of course you loved it!! 1/27-YOU ARE
OFFICIALLY WALKING! 1/28-You learned to climb up on the couch-yikes!
